HELP GET ME TO KENYA!!

I have the opportunity to document a month long volunteer program in HIV/AIDS clinics located in Nairobi, Kenya later this year. Costs for such an endeavor are high, so I’ve created a Kickstarter campaign to help raise the funds need to make this trip happen. I have 28 more days to meet my goal or I don’t receive any of the pledges made. I’m 12% towards my goal after my launch yesterday. Let’s get going! Ever little bit helps and there are some awesome goodies for contributors!!!

Did some test shots with the handsome Eli at the beach on a cool and windy night. Wanted something that felt cold and moody; I think we got it. Eli’s favorite thing – being at the beach. Eli’s least favorite thing – having his photo taken. Despite disliking having his photo taken, he was a total trooper.

Birmingham native, Matthew Mayfield opening for NEEDTOBREATHE. Poor guy had a broken foot and was waiting til after the show to put a cast on it. He put on a great set; definitely check him out.

NEEDTOBREATHE @ Jefferson Theater

Despite being on the road with Taylor Swift since May, NEEDTOBREATHE has been delighting fans with headlining shows on their days from her tour. Armed with their new top 10 CD ‘The Reckoning’, the came to Charlottesville, Virginia to headline the beautiful Jefferson Theater. Amazing show by one of the best live bands touring. Because the Jefferson does not have a photo pit, I was relegated to shooting from by the soundboard, but this was because of the venue, not the band or their representation.

On a personal note, I am a die-hard NEEDTOBREATHE fan. I had the opportunity to see them on the Rock Boat this past January and if I said I was impressed, it would be a great understatement. Not only are they incredible songwriters and brilliant performers, they are four of the most genuine guys in the industry. I’ve been very fortunate to meet a lot of talented artists, and along with Jack’s Mannequin’s Andrew McMahon, the NTB guys are just top notch at everything they do.

Gardner – Griffin Wedding

It’s always fun to catch up with couples and guests from past wedding and that’s just what Laura and Chad’s wedding offered. Laura is the sister of the groom from the Rice – Gardner wedding this past spring, so there were plenty of familiar faces including John and Adrienne Gardner! Laura and Chad held the ceremony at the Swift Creek Baptist Church and held their reception at the beautiful Salisbury Country Club, both in Midlothian, VA. Such a wonderful couple; truly perfect for one another. Oh, and check out Laura’s bouquet. She had an amazing brooch bouquet; first time I’d ever seen one and I loved it!
