Dining In The Dark

Last week I had the privilege of covering The Foundation Fighting Blindness event, Dining In The Dark. The annual event honors an individual who’s made an impact in finding a cure for Blindness. This year, the Richmond event honored Dr. Anthony Sakowski, founder of the Virginia Eye Institute. Park of the Dining in the Dark experience is that guest are encouraged to wear blindfolds while all of the lights are turned as they ear their main course. I was invited to do this as well, and it’s certainly a challenge. But, it does give us an idea of what someone with vision impairment endures on a daily basis. It was a wonderful event put together by a much-needed organization. I encourage everyone to look into them.
